If you look at anything too hard it begins to disintegrate, dissolving to the point where everything can be linked yet nothing is stable. I make art to explore this experience of perception (which feels like it hovers between joy and fear). The gallery installations (from video to drawings) are a series of propositions as to how our culture might be -- How else might we coincide and communicate? What else might we value? -- if reality shifted in the way it feels that it might, at any minute. I develop the structures of these possibilities by placing a "wrong" question into public space (through advertisements, phone calls, a question to a stranger, catalyzing chance, a group of respondents and a process that unfolds with them: reunions of owners of a particular jacket or the children "murdered" in Pasolini's film Salo; a god look-alike contest; strangers asked where The End should take place or lighting technicians asked to set up the light in heaven; a London gallery's entire archive given to a group of Kurdish asylum seekers to edit and hide outside the capital...
